On Sunday 17th September 2023 we had the pleasure of leading a parade from the square in Balbriggan to the Lawless and Gibbons memorial, where we had a minutes silence for the 2 men and flowers were layed by Séamus Lawless' great grandson, Ian Lawless. Followed by the Balbriggan Brass and Reed band, we marched up towards The Harvest Inn and the Milestone, who celebrated 100 years since the rebuilding of their businesses. There, the national anthem was played and the unveiling of 2 plaques by the Reilly brothers was done, where the plaques will remain on view for all to recognise the Rebuilding/ Rebirth of Balbriggan. A great day was had by all and it was a very proud moment for us to be part of this amazing day.
Throughout the day there was an exhibition inside the Milestone Inn, where there were photos, posters, paintings, music from Balbriggan and a video showing memories from the past days which carved the footprints for a new town which is growing day by day. Thanks to all who made this event possible.
