This year will mark the 225th Anniversary of the Irish Rebellion of 1798. After the rebels were defeated at The Battle of Vinegar Hill, Co Wexford on 21st June 1798, the dispersed rebels spread out through the midlands, and out towards Co Meath and Ballyboughal. Here was the scene of some of the bloodiest fighting of the Rebellion. Over 200 Pikemen were killed here and were buried in the graveyard in Ballyboughal. This event will commemorate the occasion, where we will be joined by the Wexford Pikemen in our march. The event will start at the 1798 monument and we will march from here to the graveyard.
